SCI FI cancels Stargate Atlantis.

Now, I'm no huge fan of the Stargate franchise or anything, but raise your hands if you're kind of baffled as to what the fuck SCI FI is going to be airing after January 2009? There are ten more episodes of Battlestar Galactica (not counting some assorted movies and the Caprica backdoor pilot) and Doctor Who is off air except for specials until 2010.

Anyway, brace for incoming wankstorm in 5...4...3...

Also, Congresswoman Tubbs Jones died today.

Sigh. All the good ones die young. We pour a little in the ground tonight for you, Congresswoman.

As I said in someone else's journal: ten hours a day of Scare Tactics. The world is doomed.

I'm sure there is going to be some epic lulz coming from the Atlantis fans. They always go the craziest.

Apparently it was actually MGM that cancelled SGA.

No, it doesn't make any sense to me, either. O.O

ROFL. Really? Ow. Death by your own production studio!

Jesus God, now, I love some of them to death but the Rodney/McKay slashers kind of scare the fuck out of me.

*sighs* Also Eureka... the only scripted program on Sci Fi that mysteriously has three fans, from what I can tell.

Oh the wankstorm has been going for some time. I freaking love that show, it's the only reason I have cable. So once this season is finished, I get to cancel my cable.

MGM itself cancelled the series, to make way for Stargate Universe from what we guess. This franchise is dead to me now.

How odd.

That is my theory as well. The producers had mentioned that they would not start work on SGU until Atlantis had ended it's run. Guess that's sooner than the 2012 start year most of us thought it would be.

I've got to say though, if the SGA movie goes the same way as Continuum did, I may take a pass on it, personally. Too many missed opportunities to bring back the little grey men, and avoid retconning the MMO they're making.

Sci-Fi as a network is going to have a hard time pulling through this. As Tori said, their quality of programming, way-off in the distance Doctor who and super-short Battlestar aside, is scant. There's Eureka, which I wouldn't watch if you paid me; Sanctuary, which looks like it's going to be utterly stupid and is low-budget to boot; Star Trek: insert spin-off here reruns; those "Sci-Fi original movies" that are just painful; and wrestling.

I look forward to watching the entire channel crash and burn. Just so I can say, "That's what you get for being a stupid bitch."

Where's your Farscape now, bitches? Stupid Sci Fi.
