Doctor Who: "Ghost Light"

I was told this episode didn't make any sense, but um, those people were obviously lying to me. (Or perhaps have a lower threshold of understanding.) Except for a few bits where the plot kind of wanders around, it more or less hangs together. There probably needs to be a bit more exposition, though, and fewer characters.

But. Then again. I also thought Alan Moore's "Promethea" was fairly easy to understand.

Basically, needs more editing, was good story, I enjoyed it very much. Also: I enjoy anything with Victorian crossdressing lesbians. Really, anything. If I ran the world, every show would be required to fit in crossdressing Victorian lesbians at some point.

I had pretty much the same reaction. So don't understand what other people's understanding problem there is. And [livejournal.com profile] andrastewhite is right that Gwendolyn singing "That's the way to the zoo" is pure mad genius.

Thank God it's not just me. I did love that bit! Actually, I loved a lot of it. It has lesbians and bugs and a gothic house with a Cthonic-angel who is really a mad Linnean. And a Neanderthal! And some genuinely quippy lines.

I would have loved the hell out of this when I was twelve. (I loved it now, too.)

I've only seen two of his episodes because I'm still attempting to watch the DVD releases mostly chronologically. But I can already tell I love him and Ace, not just because I have so far, but because that's just the sort of fan I am. I fall firmly in the DS9, Battlestar, Dark is The Best Chocolate camp.

Okay, Crossdressing Victorian Lesbians in chapter 14. Watch for it.

Is this a book or an attempt to get in my pants?

During NaNo, I am very susceptible to influence, especially when I am flying without a plot.

No plot, no pants.

That simplifies things a lot actually.
