Stuff Post

Aaron Sorkin feels guilty about Studio 60.

Also met with the head of HBO programming, calls the internet a "bronchial infection on the First Amendment" (really, Sorkin, really?) and tells a hilarious story about trying a dinner where he and a bunch of other famous screenwriters tried to pressure an end to the Writer's Strike. The money quote: I know it sounds like a bunch of revolutionaries getting together to do the right thing, but you should know the dinner was catered.

The cut scene from Iron Man with Ghostface Killa. Kinda glad they left this out, even if I like his 'I have a giant glowing pill counter in my chest' performance anxiety.

Scottish penguin knighted by the King of Norway.

Hee.

Swedish wrestler stripped of bronze medal.

Good. What a poor sport.

My bad and my apologies for the first part.

As for the strike, I would love to hear Mindy Kaling's take (or writers from The Daily Show, or Tina Fey, or Joss Whedon, or....) on the whole "We drove there in our German cars, lighting our Cuban cigars with hundred dollar bills and throwing our original Vermeer paintings into the trash for they no longer pleased us whilst talking about how we and we alone truly represented what this writer's strike was about." 'cause dude, not everybody makes your salary.

Plus it's doubly delicious that this 'tude is coming from the guy who didn't understand why the "series of tubes" explanation wasn't correct. I don't trust Dubya to tell me about environmental issues and I don't trust Benjamin to understand the significance of how the internet will affect the ability for writers (and others) to make money off of their craft in the future.

It makes you wonder how he would've reacted to TV, back in the days of radio.

Basically, this. The irony of the last line is that he wrote a play all about it...
