Stuff Post

Aaron Sorkin feels guilty about Studio 60.

Also met with the head of HBO programming, calls the internet a "bronchial infection on the First Amendment" (really, Sorkin, really?) and tells a hilarious story about trying a dinner where he and a bunch of other famous screenwriters tried to pressure an end to the Writer's Strike. The money quote: I know it sounds like a bunch of revolutionaries getting together to do the right thing, but you should know the dinner was catered.

The cut scene from Iron Man with Ghostface Killa. Kinda glad they left this out, even if I like his 'I have a giant glowing pill counter in my chest' performance anxiety.

Scottish penguin knighted by the King of Norway.

Hee.

Swedish wrestler stripped of bronze medal.

Good. What a poor sport.

I have a 7-year-old daughter. I don’t think I’ve screwed her up all that much.

Why do I doubt that, Aaron?

The penguin thing is awesome, and I'm not just saying that because penguins might be my favorite animal. More awesome than the mere existence of the penguin thing? Rachel Maddow showing video of it on Friday's Countdown.

One of the comments on the Sorkin article says he should do a show about what it's like behind the scenes of a cable news channel. I (a) swear I did not write that, (b) am already writing that fic, thank you, and (c) would still die of excitement if that happened.

On the wrestler, I dunno. On the one hand, yeah it seems that he's being more than a bit of a bad sport. On the mid ground, two disputed calls in two separate Olympic games, both which potentially cost him the gold seems a bit fishy. ON the other hand, as someone who's spent his entire life trying to be good enough to earn his way to the Gold, it seems a little slack might be given. There could be some other sanction than stripping him from the ranks, regardless of whether he wanted the honor.
