Best special comment ever?

ROFL. It's too good. Right to the camera cut, the slightly out of date pop culture reference and the disgusted sign off.

Finally, I've been disquietly abruptly jolted back to reality, because I need to consolidate my student loans. Does anyone have any advice on which lender I should use? Is this going to be a thing where because I have shitty credit I get rejected a lot, or do they just give it no matter who you use to you because you have already assumed the debt?

Actually, a lot of lenders are no longer consolidating student loans. (Our economy is fucked and they don't want the potential default coming back to bite them in the ass.) I'd start with the lender you have most of your loans with. And contact the Federal Department of Education if you have any problems.

(Good god, stop me from spewing my job on the internetz please!)

Apparently I can't do it since all the loans I want to reconsolidate are private. Blah.

I share your pain. Blah. In that case, I have no other suggestions. :(

Actually, apparently I have to call about it; they'll still probably say 'no fucking way' but whatever. I just want to not ruin [livejournal.com profile] cavni's mom's credit.

ETA: I mean, consolidating the private ones through AES, because they're all held by different banks now due to whatever the fuck the economy blah blah.

If they're private, that's going to be difficult. If we're not doing private consolidations anymore, I doubt anyone else is, either. I just checked Nelnet, which is our next biggest competitor, and they're not doing them anymore, either.

I'm going to try calling AES next Thursday and see what happens. I'm not expecting much. Sigh.

Do you know if this bill that just passed Congress is going to help? I'd really like to go back to school, but of course, my loans were through Student Loan Express, which was like the first company to collapse. And now I think they're owned by Germans or something.
