Seriously, every fandom has one. Who_anon's purported awfulness is just a reflection of the fandom itself, which is a singularly unpleasant one.

lol_meme runs year round and I think that was the main inspiration. anon_merlin is a spin off of the Who meme which goes year round too. So I think it depends on which meme style you prefer.

That said, I don't think it really has a positive or negative effect either way, but if you want to blame it, I don't care if you do.
