Every year we get into a push-pull like that with certain folks who don't consider what we like (books, scifi DVDs, games, more books) to be 'good enough' for Christmas.
My autistic 6.5 year old got a collector's item, reproduction tin football game that's meant for kids 8 and up. It has a spinning drum that has printed instructions for the plays on it.
We don't even watch football and he can't read. Thankfully my dad managed to salvage that one by playing with him. But I feel a spate of eBay coming on.
Granted this was a gift from friends of a family member as opposed to actual family or direct friends. But still. They .know. he's autistic and has learning delays.
Otherwise it was a fun day with good food and good company and the kids had a blast.
