Aaron Sorkin announces new West Wing Animated Series at SorCon.

Sorkin plans to write all of the new episodes as well as animate them himself. He has not yet sold the series for broadcast, but said he was "certain" that any network would "jump at the chance to work with Aaron Sorkin."

Christ, that interview's longer than Trial of a Time Lord! I did like the bit where she points out the balance of science-fantasy vs. scientific plausibility in DW. What's interesting though is that fandom has created a machine of people that will go and fix these problems all on their own; so after any given episode of DW, you'll get people saying "Oh that was totally bogus, you couldn't have a living sun because of this, that, and the other." To which someone else will say "Oh, yes, but as we know it. Whereas IF (blargity blarg) and considering (x where x=things we still don't know for certain) and divide by (God Tech- i.e. the "Magic Wand science of Doctor Who), then it COULD work!"

To which someone else says "Look, could we just enjoy this show as entertainment and move on with our lives before someone starts fic-ing about this?" And then someone types the words "The Doctor shouted 'Look out Peri, that solar magma's ALIVE!' 'Well then let's see how it likes THESE!' said Peri, ripping her top open..."
