I did a little defriending, mostly of people who I like, but I feel like our lives have become divergent. Sorry, I know it's a shit time of the year to do this, but when the housekeeping bug hits me, I must follow its call. For it does not like me that much.

Yeah, you're right. I should be pleased and delighted to be dropped, dismissed, handed my walking papers, pink-slipped, considered surplus to requirements, found unnecessary, etc.. How dare I be hurt and disappointed and insulted, really? It's not like I'm a human being who reacts and responds to how people treat me.

I think you're overreacting and using the term "defriended" to mean more than it means.

There are some times when life gets really too complicated for one to devote themselves to reading LiveJournal and it's really in one's best interest to prune the list down to a level where you're not constantly reading it just to keep up with the people you've chosen to add to your reading list.

Considering all that skywaterblue has gone through recently, not only am I surprised she didn't do this months ago, I'm surprised like hell to be still on her list because I make "real" posts so infrequently and the rest is shipped from Twitter. But even if she did decide to drop me, I wouldn't take it personally because I'd understand that her real, personal life comes before any long distance friendships, even she and I have known each other since 2001.
