Doctor Who: The Next Doctor

I was pretty creeped out a week ago to have this journal reported on in i09, as if I actually knew shit from shinola about the upcoming Doctor Who Christmas special. (This is why I stopped posting for a couple of days, but whatever. I mean, I labeled it 'speculation' and everything...)
Naturally, of course, the episode turned out to be more or less exactly what you could have predicted, and none of the crazy shit I thought was in it showed up.
That'll ... show i09's ... journalistic ...
... sigh.
...giant mecha Cyberman is pretty awesome. And the Doctor fighting a giant cyberman in a hot air balloon. And past Doctor cameos.
Also, it fucks with my worldview that the Doctor sticks around for dinner at the end. And Rosita gets to live.
"Planet of the Dead", eh? I'm gonna try and restrain myself this time from bleating about Gallifrey and Time Lords. It is NEVER GOING TO BE GALLIFREY OR TIME LORDS.
Edit: Also, I'll be good and add this to the bottom instead of doing a new post like usual. I think this episode kind of proves my suspicion that a gap year for 'suspense' is bullshit, since all it did was make me gag for spoilers for longer than usual, and then be reminded that sometimes this show sucks hard.
It's easier to forgive shitty episodes of television... when there's a new one next week that might be better.
Thank fuck that gap year for 'suspense' thing is really production bullshit to cover the fact that Moffat and an entirely new crew couldn't possibly be ready for a fifth season turn around in three months.
