Gunman opens fire at the Holocaust Museum on the National Mall.

The gunman was 89. I can't get over that. At 89 don't you have better things to do than hate?

RIP, Stephen Tyrone Jones. Almost certainly not what he envisioned happening over breakfast this morning when he went in to work.

Operation Rescue wants to buy Dr. Tiller's clinic... and turn it into a pro-life museum.

At his age, I'm assuming he was going for suicide by cop. A part of me is glad he hasn't died, so he can't be turned into a martyr for the cause.

Yeah, I know. But that, combined with the fact that he's 88 or 89, makes me think he was desperate to leave a mark, and if he'd been killed by a guard at the Holocaust museum (especially if it were a minority), you know that would've been a lot of fodder for the white supremacy movement.

Three Bastards

I hope that the bastards in all three incidents -- James W. von Brunn (I wonder if that's really his last name), Scott Roeder (not a good week for German-Americans!) and "Abdulhakim Mujahid Muhammad" (birth name Carlos Bledsoe) suffer death or life imprisonment for their crimes. I will be sad if any of them ever see the light of day.

I hope in particular that Bledsoe, who is 23 years old, will experience at least 5-6 decades in the knowledge that he chose to waste his life. A man who betrays his own country in wartime is the most contemptible scum of all. I hope that his jailers treat him cruelly, and that he receives no redress, legal or otherwise, for this.

And I'm not big fans of either of the other two bastards either.
