Nothing has ever made me grin so hard for so long like a stupid moron.

The Doctor! Had a bunch of travels, married shagged and dumped Queen Elizabeth! And then he goes to Oodsphere and sits down at the Opium Den of the Ood to toke up in 'the Dreaming'.

This new Crazy!Ten is now my favorite. It's all the things I usually add in to the show except in one three minute clip. So awesome.

I have such a wide grin on my face as well. This is where Rusty being a fanboy is a good thing. Who would have thought he'd ever provide us with an explanation for the slapstick gag at the end of The Shakespeare Code?

Absolutely. Bring on the Ten/Elizabeth!

(Also: will Doctor/Rose die hards be distressed because he never proposed and, according to DT at least, never had sex with her *veg*?)

The one thing guaranteed to unite the asexualists with the D/R-shippers. I knew it.

BTW, I know we're not likely to get references in the next season, what with Eleven getting a fresh start etc., but with Richard Curtis writing an episode, it's damn near irresistable.

Meanwhile, Evelyn Smythe the Tudor historian somewhere stares at her own books (thoughtfully brought with her when she settled down on another planet) changing in front of her and exclaims out loud: "Doctor, you didn't!" Because clearly Evelyn's constant fangirling of Elizabeth was one of the reasons why Ten looked her up...

Sure RTD ships them, but the difference between him and most other D/R-shippers is that he doesn't monoship them. If you've read The Writers Tale, he's positively gleeful when getting the first draft of Moffats library episodes and writes to Benjamin Cook that River Song sounds like she's the Doctor's wife. And heaven knows he signed on to Doctor/Reinette, John Smith/Joan and wrote Sound of Drums as the Doctor/Master fanfic he must been dreaming off since his teenage days.

I haven't heard the commentary yet though I have it downloaded. Awesome and amusing observation, that. And true. :)

Double duty: definitely. The way the Doctor phrases the statement could indeed refer to being married to someone other than Elizabeth, plus of course if Snapped!Ten was River's Doctor who scares armies away with a quip it would explain much. It's just ambiguously enough phrased to be endlessly useable as permission for in between adventures, that little speech...
