Well. Things just fucked up hardcore at the Sterling Cooper offices.
I'm greatly amused by the use of Marilyn Monroe's suicide as a reflection of the cast. Joan (who herself is compared to Marilyn) sees in it what we commonly accept to be true now a days -- that she was a woman greatly destroyed by the world. Peggy's family uses it to concern themselves with her mental health. Don sees it as the representation of the destruction of his marriage.
Don's lies -- and then Betsy, "Jesus, did you just think that up?" Great. January Jones is so impressive in this role.
"Your loyalty is starting to become a liability." Well, Mr. Sterling, that's one line that'd never have come out of Leo McGarry's mouth. Don's obsession with stagnancy over progress is starting to become deeply disturbing.
"Can't you find something better to do than dining on the lives of other people like a bunch of teenage girls?" Ouch. Snap, Don, snap. I'm going to start quoting that too.
Even depressed as fuck, Betty is still a SMOOTH operator, setting up her friend with the horse stable guy.
I love Peggy cutting into Pete. The look on her face as he touched him! Yeah, that's the sound of a ship crashing in the night.
Wait. So this new Kate Winslet and Leo DiCaprio movie is just a rehash of Mad Men? Feh. The trailer has some amazing sound work, though.
