The Quickest Fail in The West

My driving test was at 10:30, and I had failed by like, 10:35.

...because guess what the awesome test instructor asked me to do first? PARALLEL PARK. AWESOME.

And then he yelled at me for blowing through one of the bazillion stop signs at the DMV parking lot and made noises like "Oh, I was going to let you take the rest of the test." To which I said: "I hit the barrel, asswipe, it's an automatic fail."

So anyway. I hope I don't get that guy on December 31st at 11am. Because that would be awkward.

My first test I did great until it came to the emergency stop. See, I was wearing these wide shoes and when the examiner slapped the dashboard and I hit the brakes I hit the throttle too...

After that it all rather fell apart. I breezed through it the second time, though, and so, no doubt, will you.

I'm still kind of amazed at the sort of temerity it takes to announce that parallel parking will be first on the test.

In a half an hour or so I expect to be 'over it', although right now I'm still back on 'but I don't even want to fucking HAVE a license.'

I'm ambivalent on the topic. I prefer the Tube, but we don't have train service in Las Vegas and the buses are really, really awful.

Sorry to hear you failed your test. That sucks. It took me a while to get parallel parking, too. :(

It took me four attempts to pass. You'll almost certainly do better than that. (The third time, I failed in the last 30 seconds. I dunno if that's better or worse than the first five minutes.)
