I just heard, very sad news. I found it troubling at times, the way some women in fandom related to him as a near-worshipped source of unimpugnable facts, rather than as a person sharing his individual experiences. His contributions did add a lot to the ongoing discussion about sex in slash, though; it's hard to imagine a fandom world without Sex Tips for Slash Writers. Just the other day I made a peanut-butter-as-lube joke. :P

Well, one of the reasons I'm primarily a het/fem slasher is because I find lots of things problematic about a culture of women writing almost exclusively about male relationships.

That said, he will be missed.
