Did I not post about Mad Men 4.3 last week? That one was really amazing and had me on the edge of my seat. By contrast, this week's had a bunch of important plot stuff that I couldn't really get worked up about...

Okay, in 4.3 they reintroduce the real Mrs. Draper, who as we know, lives in California in a house by a beach and is kind of a hippy. She is an awesome character and one of the few who seems to be both genuinely good, and genuinely good for Don Draper. Well, bombshell that she has terminal cancer that she doesn't know about and it looks like Don might grow a pair and tell her over the express wishes of her family only he ends up leaving and hence not confronting his own issues about loss.

That alone would have made the episode kind of epic, except that after Don goes back he finds Lane, the British partner no one knows that well who is divorcing his wife? And they have the most epically sad drunk boys night with putting steaks on their crotch and hiring hookers and ... yeah. AWESOME. SLAM DUNK MAD MEN. "We're not homoskekuals, we're divorced!" Fucking radical.

Last night's, 4.4, was a Peggy and Pete episode and had a lot to do with Pete a. finally becoming an important partner by landing Vick's, but he has to drop Clearasil which is run by some relative of his, and b. his wife finally got knocked up so he's all happy but Peggy is like D:

And then Peggy made new counterculture friends and loosened up. "He doesn't own your vagina," says lesbian girl who wants a bit of that (mmm hmm) and Peggy's response: "No, but he's renting it."

Oh, and feminism is coming because Don's secretary walks out on him for fucking her. Good on her.

And then they get busted by the cops. Show needs more lesbian Peggy and less wangsting about Pete who is happily married. The end.

Oh, and Rubicon was on. I think I skipped a week, maybe? This week's was pretty awesome because it was more about the nutty analysts having to decide whether to kill a guy based on sketch intellegence and less about the crappy metaplot which even Miranda Richardson cannot save. As I said on Twitter, show would be awesome if it were more 'West Wing with spies' and less whatever the fuck with this conspiracy plot.

I heard they fired the head writer and retooled it after this episode, so that's interesting?
