(I have complex feelings on the issue of the photographs of people jumping from the WTC. It would make for an interesting topic in a photojournalism class, at any rate.)

Thanks for posting that, I didn't want to have to wade through the video to get to it. I feel so bad for him that he got blindsided with that. I just read his book recently and he talked about the friends he lost that day.

Yeah. It's... shockingly genuine, that moment. For as much as you kind of hate he had to do it, seeing someone BE REAL ON TELEVISION NEWS is so weird it's more shocking to me than the clips.

I haven't watched any of the RNC yet, but seeing Keith's reaction right there just shook me to the core. And this is even with a few drinks down the hatch after a night with the friends. They say alcohol desensitizes one's reactions, but in this case I think that's not the case.

I was wondering if we would have to put newyorkers on lockdown on the anniversary like we've done every year since the community was founded but if a public figure like Keith Olbermann is still angered when people exploit the tragedy, I have to think about my community members who are also angered.

The video itself is just Keith Olbermann's reaction; no actual clips are in this video. But it might be triggering on its own because he comes fairly close to losing it towards the end.

I'm really glad he spoke up. I saw the footage - well, the first few seconds and then I couldn't watch any more. It makes me sick to the stomach to think that these idiots would use something like that for political gain.
